Description

The PT Coupling W-Adapter is a Type W dust plug: an adapter-style plug that seals an open coupler when the line is disconnected, keeping dirt and moisture out and product in.

Choosing a Material

• Aluminum: lightweight and economical with good abrasion resistance; for water, hydraulic oil, coolants, gasoline and petroleum products.
• Hard Coat Aluminum: lightweight with good abrasion, corrosion and chemical resistance; for sand and salt water, hydraulic oil, coolants, gasoline and petroleum products.
• Brass: good corrosion resistance at a lower cost than stainless and forms tight seals; ideal for water, and also used with hydraulic oil, coolants, gasoline and petroleum products.
• 316 Stainless Steel: excellent corrosion resistance and strength at high temperatures, and helps prevent product contamination; for salt water, waste water and many chemicals.
• Ductile Iron: excellent abrasion and wear resistance with good strength and toughness; for sand, grout, cement and other abrasives.
• Polypropylene: glass-fiber reinforced (black) with good abrasion, corrosion and chemical resistance; for water and coolants.
• Food Grade Polypropylene: white polypropylene for water and food-grade applications.
• Nylon: glass-fiber reinforced (green) with good abrasion, corrosion and chemical resistance; for water, coolants, gasoline and varnish.
• Hastelloy C®, Monel® and Carpenter 20®: for highly corrosive media such as hydrochloric and sulfuric acid.

PT Coupling does not recommend cam and groove fittings for compressed gas service, including air and steam.
