Fuel coming from the tank can carry dirt, rust and other particles. Without a pre-filtration stage, all of that contamination goes straight to the dispenser’s spin-on filter, and that filter takes the whole load.
Cim-Tek Viking high-flow housings give you a first line of filtration that helps manage fuel contamination before it reaches your dispenser filters. Where the system design permits, they can be installed as a pre-filtration stage ahead of the filters you already have.
How Pre-Filtration Works
A Cim-Tek Viking housing goes between the submersible pump and the dispenser. Coarse particles are caught in the housing first, so the spin-on filter at the dispenser has much less to deal with.
Without pre-filtration: Contaminants travel from the underground tank through the submersible pump and go straight to the dispenser’s spin-on filter, which takes the full load.
With Cim-Tek Viking pre-filtration: The Viking housing catches coarse particulate first, so the spin-on filter takes a lighter load.
Why Invest in a Pre-Filtration Step?
- Protects downstream filters: Helps keep coarse particulate away from spin-on filters.
- Longer filter life: May help extend the service life of spin-on filters.
- Flexible configuration: Multiple media and micron options to suit the application.
- Service indicators: Optional differential-pressure gauges help show when service may be needed.
- Contamination insight: Filter loading can help reveal contamination in incoming fuel.
- Extra protection: An added safeguard when fuel quality drops.
